Deeplinks in Cowculator — what are they?
A deeplink is a short link to your calculator with prefilled field values. Deeplinks are handy for ads, bio‑link pages, email campaigns, or support chats.
Example of a ready deeplink: calc.ink/lb8XvDn
Create a deeplink (2 steps)
Step 1 — Choose a calculator
Select the calculator from the list. Important: the fields themselves are always visible in the calculator — the deeplink only adds or omits their values.
To create a deeplink you need at least one published calculator. Don’t have one yet? In this post we explain how to create your first calculator.
Step 2 — Configure field values (for Pro plan users)
Enable or disable including each field’s value in the deeplink. When a field is enabled, its value will be passed in the URL; when disabled, the value is not passed (but the field itself remains visible in the calculator).
Starter plan users can generate a deeplink, but without setting prefilled values.
Tip: use clear combinations of values for specific audience segments — users will receive a relevant, prefilled estimate.
Deeplink actions: copy, QR, embed, disable
On the Deeplinks page, hover over the desired item — if the calculator is not deleted, you’ll see buttons:
- Copy — opens the creation window at step 2 with prefilled values so you can quickly edit and generate a new deeplink.
- QR — generates a QR code for the current deeplink.
- Embed — provides iFrame code to place on your site.
- Disable — deactivates the deeplink (its status becomes inactive).
The QR code and iFrame are generated for the selected deeplink (with its prefills).
Search and filters
- Search by prefills or by the deeplink URL itself.
- Filter by calculator — show deeplinks of a specific calculator.
- Show/hide inactive — there’s a checkbox at the top; inactive (deleted/disabled) items are highlighted in red.
Examples
- Ready short link:
calc.ink/lb8XvDn— perfect for bio links, posts, and banners. - iFrame embed: generate the code on the Deeplinks page and paste it into your site.
- QR code: hover over the deeplink and click “QR” to get an image for print or offline materials.
Dynamic values via GET parameters
Besides saved deeplinks, you can pass values to a calculator dynamically via URL parameters. For example:
calc.ink/305F5rs?f.principal=5000
Here f.principal is the key of the principal field, and 5000 is the value. For multiple fields, add parameters joined with &, e.g.: ?f.size=xl&f.color=black.
We’ll cover this in more detail in one of our upcoming posts.
This is handy for online stores and dynamic pages where values are formed on the fly.
Recommendations
- Create separate deeplinks for different traffic sources so users see the most relevant values.
- Use QR codes for offline activities: expos, storefronts, packaging.
